AKROWA VOLUNTEERS GRADUATE:

Thirteen volunteer-caregivers of Akrowa Aged-Life Foundation have graduated from the Health Concern Nursing College after a course in general and basic nursing and geriatrics.
The course, sponsored by Mrs. Mary Aboagye, Director of the College and a Board member of AA-LF is the first of its kind and the beginning of a structured gradual educational process to educate young volunteers in readiness for the expansion of the project nation-wide. These pioneers have also completed hospital practice from the Alpha Medical Centre.
As AA-LF recognises the importance of professionalism in modern eldercare, it has become part of the AALF agenda to offer free training in geriatrics and general nursing to the several young energetic persons in our rural communities and encourage them to become professional caregivers and to create an employment avenue in eldercare for the teeming uneducated and unemployed youth in the communities.
